Workin’ Man’s Society
Julian Austin/Daniel LeBlanc

Well it’s Monday morning and I’m punchin’ the clock

Got this pain in my head, Lord it just won’t stop

The boss man’s yelling at me to get the lead out

I’m thinking real hard about shutting his mouth

Just about then I heard the whistle blow

Reminding me I got the whole day to go

Until I jump in my truck and get out of here

Catch up with the boys for an ice cold beer

I’m a member of the blue collar, under paid, union fees,

no pension, overtime, hard drivin’, workin’ man’s society.

Mortgage rates, labour wage, mouths to feed is killing me

Five days a week I slave just to be broke

I’m taxed to death on everything that I don’t own

I’m a member if the blue collar workin’ man’s society

Workin’ like a dog just to make that cheque

Before I get to cash it I got none left

The bank gets half of it the wife gets the rest

The more money I make I end up deeper in debt

Even if I was to win a million bucks

With the bills that I owe that wouldn’t be enough

The way the cost of living keeps getting so high

I’ll be workin’ at this 8 to 5 till I die

I’m a member of the blue collar, under paid, union fees,

no pension, overtime, hard drivin’, workin’ man’s society.

Mortgage rates, mouths to feed, labour wage is killing me

Five days a week I slave just to be broke

I’m taxed to death on everything that I don’t own

I’m a member if the blue collar workin’ man’s society

I’m a member if the blue collar workin’ man’s society

This living as a blue collar sure is killing me
